Meet Our DearMen Fellows

Over 200 young men have come through the DearMen Fellowship. These are some of them, and the change they are leading where they live. When they finish the fellowship, they join our National Male Allies Network and continue advancing gender equality nationwide.

David Moses Olofu

FCT, Abuja

David Moses Olofu is a media and advocacy professional focused on youth empowerment, drug harm reduction, and social behavior change. He represents FCT. 

He has been actively involved in drug harm reduction advocacy through the Drug Harm Reduction Advocacy Network, using community sensitization, youth engagement, and media advocacy to reduce stigma and promote safer choices. 

He is especially concerned about substance abuse among boys and men, particularly where it is tied to the pressure to “make it” quickly. Through DearMen, he hopes to deepen his understanding of healthy masculinity and translate it into practical, community-driven impact. 

Zakari Emmanuel

FCT, Abuja

Zakari Emmanuel is a spoken word poet, development professional, and youth advocate who uses storytelling and community engagement to inspire social change. He represents FCT. 

His work focuses on mentoring, youth development, and creating safe spaces where young men can speak honestly about emotional wellbeing, accountability, identity, and the pressures they face. 

He is especially concerned about the emotional isolation many boys and men experience. Through DearMen, he hopes to use spoken word and storytelling to open honest conversations around masculinity, mental health, vulnerability, and healing.

Musa Onaivi Adam

FCT, Abuja

Musa Onaivi Adam is a problem-solver with interests in artificial intelligence, graphic design, and data analysis. He represents FCT. 

He has supported personal initiatives that encourage open conversations about mental health and challenge narrow stereotypes around masculinity. 

He is especially concerned about the pressure on boys and men to appear tough and hide vulnerability. Through DearMen, he hopes to use data-driven thinking and technology to challenge harmful ideas about masculinity and support more authentic self-expression. 

Samuel John Aboh

FCT, Abuja

Samuel John Aboh is a registered nurse with a strong interest in leadership, volunteering, and community service. He represents FCT. 

As Mission Coordinator for the Fellowship of Christian Nurses FCT Zone, he helped coordinate a medical and mission outreach to the Kuchigoro Internally Displaced Persons Camp in June 2024, where the team provided medical support, food, clothing, and welfare items. 

He is especially concerned about the neglect of young men’s mental health, poor mentoring for future husbands and fathers, and weak leadership development among young men. Through DearMen, he hopes to learn from mentors and contribute ideas that support healthier leadership and wellbeing for boys. 

Precious Adem

FCT, Abuja

Precious Adem is a public health professional, project manager, youth advocate, and founder of Ademi Development Aid Initiatives. He represents FCT. 

Through his Boys Today, Men Tomorrow initiative, he works with male secondary school students on mentorship, behavioural change, responsible leadership, emotional intelligence, civic values, and the prevention of gender-based violence. 

He is especially concerned about the suppression of emotional identity among boys and men. Through DearMen, he hopes to promote healthier conversations around masculinity, emotional wellbeing, leadership, and accountability. 

Philip Stephen Ojonugwa

FCT, Abuja

Philip Stephen Ojonugwa is an international development professional and scholar with experience in donor-funded programmes, education access, gender policy, and social development. He represents FCT. 

As Research and Policy Lead at the Commonwealth Youth Gender and Equality Network, he has worked on policy issues including gender-based violence, forced and early marriage, and inclusion across Commonwealth spaces. 

He is especially concerned that many Nigerian men are struggling with depression, anxiety, and unprocessed trauma in silence. Through DearMen, he hopes to become more accountable and present, while carrying those lessons into the communities where he works. 

Ivase Simon Terlumun

FCT, Abuja

Ivase Simon Terlumun is a disability advocate, solar technician, and entrepreneur committed to learning, building, and serving his community. He represents FCT. 

He has volunteered on Project BALE, an eco-friendly library initiative designed to support out-of-school boys and girls with basic education while also encouraging creative reuse of plastic waste. 

He is especially concerned about the pressure young boys face from unsafe communities, peer influence, and substance use. Through DearMen, he hopes to share his experience, learn from others, and build lasting relationships with people working for the same change. 

Nicholason Ugwuanyi

FCT, Abuja

Nicholason Ugwuanyi is a Nigerian social impact leader, Chemical Engineering graduate, and founder of Nicholasmotivates Initiative. He represents FCT. 

Through Nicholasmotivates Initiative, he addresses period poverty, menstrual stigma, gender equity, and environmental sustainability in underserved communities. 

He believes young men have a critical role to play in building a safer and more equitable society. Through DearMen, he hopes to strengthen his ability to build systems-level solutions that connect gender equity, menstrual health, and environmental sustainability. 

Oluwagbemiga S. Ajayi

FCT, Abuja

Oluwagbemiga Samuel Ajayi is a programme and operations professional with over four years of experience delivering social impact initiatives across Nigeria. He represents FCT. 

He currently leads Studio24’s Purple Baby CSR initiative, which provides financial and material support to preterm babies and mothers, including medical bill support and hospital equipment donations. 

He is especially interested in honest conversations with boys in schools, churches, neighborhoods, and online spaces. Through DearMen, he hopes to help younger boys access guidance that is simple, practical, and often missing.

Akande Philip Fume

FCT, Abuja

Akande Philip Fume has over 12 years of experience and is active in nonprofit work, driven by a passion for positive change and a healthier society. He represents FCT. 

He serves as Director of Special Duties with Beyond Boundaries Legacy Leadership Initiative, where he contributes to leadership and community-focused work. 

He is interested in discipline, leadership, responsibility, and mentorship. Through DearMen, he hopes to strengthen his character and become better equipped to mentor young men around him.

Victor Ejah

FCT, Abuja

Victor Ejah is a graduate of the University of Agriculture, Makurdi, where he studied Integrated Science Education. He represents FCT. 

His professional experience includes customer service, and his application reflects a concern for emotional suppression among boys and men. 

He is especially concerned about how many boys and men are taught to hide pain instead of seeking help. Through DearMen, he hopes to learn, grow, and support healthier conversations around men’s emotional wellbeing. 

Ahmad Rufai Abdulmalik

FCT, Abuja

Ahmad Rufai Abdulmalik is a Biochemistry graduate with strong interests in dialogue, peacebuilding, and community development. He represents FCT. 

He has supported menstrual hygiene initiatives for girls in secondary schools within his community, including awareness work and the distribution of sanitary products. 

He believes men have an important role to play in promoting gender equality, peaceful coexistence, and safer communities. Through DearMen, he hopes to learn more about creating safe spaces for men and boys. 

Umar Adamu

FCT, Abuja

Umar Adamu is a graduate of Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution with an interest in mentorship, growth, and community service. He represents FCT. 

His work is rooted in volunteering and practical engagement with people who want to grow in purpose, discipline, and responsibility. 

He is committed to becoming a man of purpose, integrity, and impact. Through DearMen, he hopes to help build a culture of honest accountability among men. 

Joshua Ibeazor

FCT, Abuja

Joshua Ibeazor is a mathematics educator, author, and social impact advocate based in Abuja. He represents FCT. 

He founded the Real Life Mathematics Initiative, using mathematics education to address social issues, inspire learners, and promote peacebuilding among young people. 

He believes the world needs men who lead with character, empathy, responsibility, and purpose. Through DearMen, he hopes to empower boys and young men with healthier perspectives on masculinity, education, leadership, and social responsibility. 

Clement Omeiza Fache

FCT, Abuja

Clement Omeiza Fache is an Agricultural Economist, Extension graduate of Bayero University Kano, agro-consultant, and community development advocate. He represents FCT. 

Through his brand, Agrodoting, he has led and supported community-focused agricultural initiatives connected to youth empowerment and development. 

He is interested in leadership, advocacy, responsible masculinity, and community impact. Through DearMen, he hopes to contribute to conversations that promote emotional intelligence and responsible leadership among young men. 

Ubong Solomon

FCT, Abuja

Ubong Solomon is a motivated and growth-driven individual with a strong desire for personal and spiritual development. He represents FCT. 

His work is rooted in volunteering and a willingness to learn, serve, and participate in spaces that support young people. 

He is interested in becoming more grounded as a man and supporting conversations that help boys and men grow with responsibility, discipline, and emotional maturity. 

Solomon John

FCT, Abuja

Solomon John is a youth activist engaged in human rights, climate change, health rights, gender equality, youth empowerment, and sustainable development. He represents FCT. 

He is the founder of Ecopals Nigeria and has affiliations with organizations and platforms focused on health rights, youth development, climate justice, and the Sustainable Development Goals. 

He is committed to uplifting disadvantaged populations, adolescents, young people, women and girls, and communities affected by HIV/AIDS and social exclusion. Through DearMen, he brings a strong background in advocacy, mobilization, and community action. 

David Arome

Niger State

David Arome is a journalist, storyteller, and community advocate who uses investigative reporting and human-centered storytelling to challenge harmful gender norms. He represents Niger State. 

He has supported menstrual hygiene advocacy for girls in Abuja, including work connected to the Sanitary Pad Bank Project. 

He is especially interested in using storytelling, advocacy, and community engagement to challenge harmful gender norms and promote positive masculinity among boys and young men. 

Abdulwahab A. Opeyemi

Niger State

Abdulwahab Abdulroqeeb Opeyemi is a Computer Engineering student at the Federal University of Technology, Minna, with a strong academic record and a clear interest in social change. He represents Niger State. 

As SRGBV Advocacy Team Lead at KELIC Education Foundation, he led awareness campaigns on gender-based violence in schools and helped script a 29-topic video series on consent, healthy relationships, and reporting mechanisms. 

He is especially concerned about toxic masculinity and the damage it causes in homes, schools, and communities. Through DearMen, he hopes to create safe spaces for young men in his university to discuss mental health, masculinity, and gender equality.

Odokun Ezekiel Haruna

Niger State

Odokun Ezekiel Haruna is a community development leader and co-founder of Africa Initiative for Humanitarian Development, with over eight years of experience across local, national, and international organizations. He represents Niger State. 

He has actively led community-driven initiatives and brings experience in mobilizing people around development and social impact. 

He believes true leadership begins from within. Through DearMen, he hopes to contribute to reshaping the narrative around manhood by promoting emotional intelligence, servant leadership, and community responsibility.

Falade M. Theophilus

Plateau State

Falade Morakinyo Theophilus is driven by a desire to grow, lead, and make meaningful impact. He represents Jos, Plateau State. 

He is leading FaliNspireAfrica, an initiative working with secondary school students to support growth, mentorship, and social awareness. 

He is especially interested in stepping up as a leader and ally for gender equality. Through DearMen, he hopes to create workshops and peer support groups that address toxic masculinity and mental health stigma.
